How the PSLE AL Score System Works
Since 2021, Singapore's PSLE uses Achievement Level (AL) scoring. Each of the four subjects (English, Mother Tongue, Mathematics, Science) is graded AL 1 (best) to AL 8. Your PSLE aggregate is the sum of all four subjects, ranging from AL 4 (best possible) to AL 32 (lowest).
During the Secondary 1 Posting Exercise, students indicate their school choices. MOE posts students to schools based on their PSLE aggregate score, school preference order, and citizenship status. Singapore Citizens receive priority over Permanent Residents with the same score.
Cut-off points are indicative. The exact cut-off each year depends on the student cohort, school vacancies, and DSA (Direct School Admission) allocations. Use these figures as a planning guide.
