DSA Secondary School Singapore 2026
Direct School Admission (DSA) lets your child enter secondary school based on talents โ before PSLE results. Here's everything you need to know.
What is DSA?
Direct School Admission (DSA) is a scheme by MOE that allows Primary 6 students to apply to secondary schools based on specific talents, skills, or achievements โ entirely independent of PSLE results. Schools assess applicants through trials, interviews, auditions, or portfolio reviews.
If your child receives and accepts a DSA offer, they are committed to enrol in that school. They still sit for PSLE, but cannot use their PSLE results to transfer to another school during Secondary 1 to 3.
๐ก DSA is ideal for children with a clear talent who want to join a school known for that area โ e.g. a footballer applying to a school with a strong football DSA track.

Tips for DSA Applications
You can apply to multiple schools under DSA. Don't wait โ slots fill fast. Apply to 2โ3 schools in your target talent area.
Document achievements, certificates, competition results, and training records. Schools want evidence of sustained commitment, not just last-minute preparation.
Trials are the most important part. Ensure your child is well-practiced in their talent area. Some schools also conduct academic aptitude tests.
DSA commits your child to the school for 4 years. Visit Open Houses, talk to current students, and understand the school's values beyond just its DSA track.
Accepting a DSA offer means your child must join that school, even if PSLE results would qualify for a more prestigious posting. Discuss this decision carefully.
IP schools let students skip O-levels (go straight to A-levels or IB). This suits academically strong students. Express pathway is more flexible.
